The Supreme Court will today (Monday) hear the appeals by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate in the September 2018 governorship election in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, challenging the victory of the Governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola and his All Progressives Congress at the poll. Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave the Spanish giants in this window, and while his previous buyout clause was said to be set at €1 billion, the club has reportedly agreed to lower his release fee. Worldwidenewssam.blogspot.com According to  OK Diario , Ronaldo has reached an agreement with Real to reduce his buyout clause for the current transfer window. The agreement was reportedly reached between the end January and the beginning of February, initially reducing Ronaldo's buyout clause to €400 million (R6.4 billion) and later even further to €120 million (R1.9 billion). Unlike his previous €1 billion (R16 billion) clause, the new release clause would actually allow the 33-year-old to leave the club should a sizeable offer come in. However, this fee is only reportedly applicable for clubs outside of Spain, and not the likes of FC Barcelona and other LaLiga teams, while it would also not apply to Paris Saint-Germain. Right now, the Port...

Argentina v England, played on 22 June 1986, was a football match between Argentina and England in the quarter-finals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The game was held four years after the Falklands War between Argentina and the United Kingdom, and was a key part in the already intense Argentina–England football rivalry . It was also a match which included two of the most famous goals in football history, both scored by Diego Maradona. The first goal, after 51 minutes, was to become known as the "Hand of God goal", which Maradona scored by using his hand. His second, four minutes after his first, saw him dribble past five England players, Beardsley, Reid, Butcher, Fenwick, Butcher (again), and finally goalkeeper Peter Shilton, and became known as the "Goal of the Century". Argentina won the game 2–1 and went on to win the 1986 World Cup with a victory over West Germany in the final match . Maradona won the golden ball for pla...

Many football fans believed that if Lionel Messi was to lead Argentina to World Cup glory this summer, there could be no argument that he is the greatest player of all time. However, the chances of that happening now look incredibly slim. Messi’s missed penalty resulted in Argentina drawing their opening match against Iceland before they were thrashed 3-0 by Croatia in their second game. During their damaging loss, Messi was anonymous and barely touched the ball. His frustrations and stress could be seen throughout the 90 minutes as he saw his dream slipping away slowly. You couldn’t help but feel sorry for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. And even Croatian players appeared to feel a bit sorry after the match. Real Madrid midfielder - and Man of the Match on the night - Luka Modric has a few words for his rival. “Messi is an incredible player,” Modric said. “But he can’t do everything alone. In football you need help and it can’t be done alone.” He’s spot on. Despite Messi’...
